Commander Villegas Jr.

Commander Eulalio “Lalo” Villegas grew up in the Los Angeles area and attended Jordan High School in South Central Los Angeles. He then attended California State University, Fresno where he received his Bachelor of Science in Criminology.

In 1995, Lalo began his law enforcement career with the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control as an Investigator, where he worked in an undercover capacity throughout the state enforcing alcohol laws. In 1999, Lalo came to work for the Salinas Police Department. As an officer, Lalo worked in patrol, the Violence Suppression Unit, as a detective, a public information officer, and a member of SWAT. In June 2011, he was promoted to sergeant. As a sergeant, he worked in patrol, the Monterey County Joint Gang Task Force, and SWAT.

In May 2020, Lalo was promoted to Commander. He has served as the Watch Commander in Patrol and is currently the Commander for the Violence Suppression Task Force and the Canine Unit. He is also the Tactical Commander for SWAT.
