Commander Arensdorf

Jim Arensdorf grew up in Southern California and after graduating college with a bachelor’s cegree in Business Administration began a 16-year career in Retail Management.

Jim began his law enforcement career as an officer with the Monterey Police Department in 2002 after attending the South Bay Regional Training Consortium Police Academy (SB54). Jim worked as both a patrol officer and a Detective in his 5 years with Monterey Police Department. In 2007, he lateraled to the Salinas Police Department, where he worked as Patrol Officer, Detective, and a member of the Hostage Negotiation Team.

In 2010, Jim was promoted to the rank of Sergeant, where he worked in patrol operations and the Investigations Bureau. In 2018, he was promoted to the role of Commander, serving as a Watch Commander in patrol operations. In 2021, he moved to the Investigations Bureau Commander, overseeing the major crimes division, the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit and the Salinas Police Department Honor Guard.

Jim holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from California State San Bernardino and a Master of Business Administration from Faulkner University.
