Salinas, CA – On July 23, 2024, at approximately 4:00 AM, Salinas Police Officers responded to a local hospital after two juveniles arrived with non-life-threatening gunshot injuries. The investigation revealed that the two injured juveniles were in the company of a third juvenile. The third juvenile was in possession of a handgun and, while manipulating it, accidentally discharged the weapon, striking the two victims. The 17-year-old suspect was quickly apprehended, and the firearm has been recovered. The suspect was arrested and lodged at juvenile hall for several charges.
