Starting tomorrow, the Salinas Police Department will introduce a new tool for the community to provide feedback to our department. We will be sending out text message surveys after certain types of interactions with 911 and the department. Each survey will be just a few questions about how satisfied you are and ask for feedback. This may be after low priority 911 calls or certain types of officer reports and may happen a few hours or a few days after the interaction. Your feedback is important to us and we want to know how we are doing. We also want to be able to provide positive feedback to officers and to know if something can be improved. Not everyone will receive a survey and residents that do not want to participate can simply not respond. This cannot be used to report any type of emergency, criminal activity, or make a formal complaint with the department.
